Kong hookah bowls come from Perm, Russia. They are some of the most technically serious, genuinely handmade bowls currently available in the hookah market.

Every bowl goes through a 12-stage production process, shaped on a potter’s wheel and fired at 1200°C. The result is ceramic that is exceptionally dense, completely non-absorbing, and built for session performance that holds up across dozens of uses without degradation.

Why 1200°C Matters

Firing temperature is not a trivial detail. Ceramic fired at high temperatures becomes denser, less porous, and far more resistant to absorbing the molasses and aroma compounds that accumulate in lower-grade bowls session after session.

Kong states a 0% aromatic absorption claim — and the 1200°C firing process is the technical basis for it.

In practice, this means the first session and the fiftieth session from the same Kong bowl taste the same. No carryover and no accumulated residue distorting the flavor of your tobacco.

Handmade With Consistent Dimensions

Despite being entirely handmade, Kong bowls achieve reliable dimensional consistency — edges that seat flush with heat management devices, grommet fits that are correct rather than approximate, bowl profiles that don’t vary significantly between pieces.

This is the result of the 12-stage process, which includes controlled checks at multiple production points. Handmade doesn’t have to mean inconsistent, and Kong is a clear demonstration of that combination working well.

The Kong Lineup

The catalog covers phunnel and multi-hole formats across a range of capacities:

1. King Kong — the flagship. A distinctive gorilla-shaped bowl where smoke exits from the nose during purging. 18–25g capacity. Built for long group sessions.
2. Phunnel Lava — the functional workhorse. 17–20g, phunnel geometry, reliable heat retention. The go-to for wet tobacco.
3. Turkish Boy — classic multi-hole format. Thick walls, traditional smoking character, suitable for all tobacco types.
4. Razor / Lava Killer v.2.0 — 18–22g, designed for heavier tobacco and more intensive sessions.
